About Belbin Team Roles

The Belbin® Team Roles profile was developed in the 1970’s by Dr Meredith Belbin, with his research team, at the world respected Henley Management College, with his research focusing on why some teams are more effective than others. He identified that individuals displayed various team roles to varying degrees. A Team Role came to be defined as:

“A tendency to behave, contribute and interrelate with others in a particular way.” – Meredith Belbin

Now one of the most widely used team profiling tools available, With a range of sophisticated online reports, it is the first choice for many organisations when they are looking to create high performing teams.

With so much evidence that businesses perform better when their key players focus on their strengths and outsource their weaknesses, Belbin® Team Roles confirms and explains this perfectly. It does not put people in boxes, as your team roles may change over time, and is based on observation as well as substantial research. It has also been updated regularly and the reports are of a good quality. All in all it really makes a difference to the way people work in teams.
