The 9 Belbin Team Roles

I think the easiest way to describe a Monitor Evaluator, is as a set of scales. Not necessarily someone to come up with original ideas they are certainly someone who will need a high IQ. By nature they look for flaws and can sometimes be seen to be quite critical, but if you have a complex problem, with a lot of data and analysis required, the Monitor Evaluator is the most likely candidate to volunteer for this. Not afraid to make decisions, they will be seen primarily as objective and not subjective so vital when it comes to making decisions for the team, as they are less likely to be swayed by subjective reasoning.

What are the 9 Belbin® Team Roles?

A team role is defined as a way in which we prefer to interrelate with the team. We will usually have more than one as a preference. They are described in the profile as preferred, manageable and least preferred. The nine Belbin team roles are;
Plant
Monitor Evaluator
Coordinator
Implement
Completer finisher
Resource investigator
Shaper
Team worker
Specialist

Why use an Accredited Belbin® Team Roles Facilitator?

Using a certified Belbin® team roles facilitator ensures you are using the very latest tools and methodology, relating to team dynamics and have a Belbin® trained specialist looking after your team development. We are also able to use e-interplace which is a sophisticated online system that goes much further than a single profile and allows us to run a broad range of reports looking at the make up of your team and help you make important choices when it comes to choosing team members. It is also a 360 version which allows you to get feedback not just from the person taking the profile but also their manager, peers and subordinates.
 With so much evidence that businesses perform better when their key players focus on their strengths and outsource their weaknesses, Belbin® Team Roles confirms and explains this perfectly.
